Whether you have been considering a career as an interior designer, looking to decorate your home to a professional standard, or thinking about renovating and decorating properties as an investment you have probably given some thought to what you will need to do and learn in order for you to reach your goals, and the course of training you will need to get there. We would therefore like to introduce you to the Visual Approach Correspondence Course in Interior Design and Decoration.
As most of you will appreciate, interior design consists of a vast selection of topics, some of which are subjective (such as styling and colour scheming), practical (for example, planning and practice management), technical (lighting and security), or scholastic (the history of interior design). As a student of Visual Approach you will be taught each subject in a comprehensive and progressive way, using self-marked work to help you build your confidence and abilities, and submitted work to enable us to guide you effectively, and we will shortly introduce you to some of these subjects as well as giving you a little overview of the work that you will be required to do as part of your training with us.
But as well as learning about the general mechanics of interior design, we are also keen for you to increase and develop your own creativity and imagination to a level where you can design interiors that have individualistic flair and style, and throughout your training you will be encouraged to work in a way that will help you to gain confidence in these important aspects of the design process.
To further assist you in developing and enhancing your abilities, much of what you learn will be of a highly practical nature, such as drawing plans, or producing attractive, and informative, sample boards, and throughout your training you will be given a considerable number of exercises, tasks and projects to help you increase these skills.
However, good teaching goes beyond just sharing information and marking work, and one of the key areas we pride ourselves in is our ability to inspire, motivate and encourage students using goal-oriented direction and continual assessment and guidance. But above all, it is important to us that each and every one of our students feels that they are part of the group, irrespective of their location, abilities or experience. And later we will show you some of the ways that we make this possible.
